One Hour Rewind

A one hour rewind, in one hour speed time.
I start my wrist-watch as I open the door and lock it behind me.
I scuff my shoe on the carpet at home,
And proceed to make my endless notes with you.
I have to make some crucial choices in the moment tonight,
Between a place out of town and a place down the street;
A place with the crew or a place with the clowns.
I laugh like the owl Archimedes from “A Sword in the Stone,”
Watching a movie I have sought after for so long.
I can’t do it. I can’t do it; I must surrender to the movie,
And forfeit good times which were out of town.
I’ll only crash this rocket ship and leave my good buddies in the dust.
Where am I in their friendship?
