Breathing is a cure for the common cramp
There are three different kinds of cramps: abdominal, stomach, and muscle. The first two are more commonly caused by incorrect breathing or indigestion. The third is usually caused by dehydration.
You can cure a cramp while running by breathing more deeply. The key is to begin inhaling on the down-step of whichever side you’re experiencing the discomfort from.
After a several heavy breaths, the cramp should go away. If not, slow to a walk and continue breathing deeply, adding pressure with your hand. If you have muscle cramps, the best thing to do is stop and hydrate.
It’s important to obey your body during times like these, as they are likely to clue you in on certain things you’re doing right and wrong in regards to exercise.
