Unidentified Dream

It happened again, a dream with a book.
I’ll write it away, from thought and from mind.

I was asleep in a foxhole, until I heard a sound,
A big explosion, sounding so profound!
I awoke to see the tropics, with high grass and tree,
And something was moving there, an enemy!
I picked up my rifle, which wasn’t a real rifle, but a book!
Just a book!

I fired at the enemy, concealed by the grass,
With the book in its direction, a strange feeling of mass…
Feeling the shot of the gun which I held, I was firing…
I’m glad I woke up, because life is short.
Away with you, thought, lest you seek comfort!
